An antique spindle rocking chair reimagined with a mash-up of graphic striped and checked fabrics and cherry-cola lacquer. The seat’s cotton canvas is a custom blue-and-green glitch check, while the jaunty stripes on the back and pillow are upcycled garments. I was inspired to juxtapose the chair’s decorative frame—the turned wood spindles, metal rivets, and carved floral motifs—with whimsical ribbons and bold, pattern-clashing fabrics.
